Fall Break 2009

Fall Break was a little lame this year. I mean, they only got two days off, Monday and Tuesday, October 19, and 20. Papa is in the hospital having open heart surgery so we didn't want to leave town. Plus, we have been somewhere the past couple of weekends showing Bert's VW bug.
What do you do with two kids who have nothing to do for a couple of days? Well, we slept a lot, at least, Jacqulin and I did. Luke seems to get up at the crack of dawn whether he goes to bed early or not. We stayed at the hospital and visited Papa for a good portion of the day Monday.
And then the fun began.... we took down the kitchen wall paper. Or at least we started the project. Luke and Jacqulin worked as a great team. They decided, early on, that Luke is a better steamer and Jacqulin is a better scraper. I might higher them out.

Jacqulin and the Honors Choir

Can you believe how much these girls have grown? I can't.
The Freedom Intermediate School's Honors Choir performed their fall concert last week. This is the largest choir they have ever had. I think there are 63 kids in this choir.
Jacqulin is on the top row, third from the left.
It is amazing to me how kids that are in the 5th and 6th grades can harmonize and sound this fantastic. Obviously, they practice a lot. I also think the director, Mrs. Gibson, demands a lot and loves on these kids and encourages them to do their best.
