Bert's goin' Old School

Bert found this old school Schwinn bike at Wal-Mart. We don't ever go to Wally world - it wears me out. But there was something there I had to have so I talked the whole family into suffering with me. It's just so big and there are so many people with so few teeth. Anyway, Bert saw this bike that looks like what he had as a kid. Banana seat and all!! We laughed about it in the store. Well, he talked about it all day and night. He searched it on the internet and found that Schwinn made this limited stash of old school bikes for Christmas. Maybe no one else is into the banana seat because they marked them all down. At about 10:30 Friday night I told Bert that Wal-Mart is open 24 hours a day. So, he and the kids went and bought the last one they had. Boy, am I glad they went when they did.
Bert had a nice ride. Even picked up some chicks to ride on the back....just like the old days.

Ollie Who?

I think this is called an Ollie. You start with your skateboard face down, then flip it over and land on it and roll away. This isn't a skill the rest of the family has. Thankfully we have never been to the ER over this either.

Back together again!

WOOOO!!! HOOOOO!!! They fight like cats and dogs, but they really love each other. Today we had a day to do whatever we wanted. We ate lunch with daddy first. Then the park was on our agenda. Of course, we had to get ice cream on the way. It was so cold yesterday that I didn't know if we would be staying long, but it warmed up. What a beautiful day.

Aunt Charlotte saves spring break!!!!

Our spring break was on shaky ground to begin with, Bert got extremely busy so he couldn't go anywhere. Luke had an opportunity to do some mission projects with the church middle school, so he didn't want to go. I promised Jacqulin a trip to the American Girl Bistro in Atlanta almost a year ago. I felt guilty I hadn't given Jacqulin her trip (it was for practicing her violin allll summer!) Jacqulin and I were set for a girls trip to AG for Tuesday morning. Well, Atlanta had terrible storms last weekend. Bert called me in the car Monday morning and said the police were requesting people stay out of Atlanta. I called Aunt Charlotte. "What are you doing?" She said to come on down to their lake house. We invited Jacqulin's friend Kahsia. It was a little bit chilly but we had a big time. Amelia loved the girl time. Alex went to a friends house for the night - he knew there were too many girls in one house. We hunted for Easter eggs, played Mall Madness, threw rocks in the lake, ate somores, found fossils, watched a crawfish and laughed a lot.
Thanks to the Brodowski's for saving our spring break!!

THE POWER OF THE BRACES!!!!

Luke wasn't sure he wanted braces. But, if you have to have them you should have some fun with them, right?!
In anticipation of the Super Bowl and cheering for his favorite team (although they were the underdogs, in case you don't remember) Luke had alternating blue and red bands for the Giants. Do you remember who won? The Giants!

So, on our next appointment he had to support the Vanderbilt basketball team. As you can see he had alternating black and gold bands put on. Vanderbilt had a very big game against the University of Tennessee. I know we live in this state but the UT fans can be VERY obnoxious (if you're not obnoxious, I'm not talking about you...but you know this is true!) Vanderbilt (although the underdogs) WON!!!
Could there be power in the braces?

Fourth Graders Sing at the Intermediate School

The fourth graders sang with four other schools from our district. Jacqulin and her friends had a great time.Luke was taking these pictures so that is why she is sticking her tongue out. They sang 'Splish Splash I was Taking a Bath" complete with motions. It was a fun night and a great opportunity to be in the school they will be attending next year.

EAGLE JUMP FORCE!!!!

Jacqulin is on the jump rope team at her school. You have to be a third or fourth grader to participate. This is her second and last year. Luke was on the team when he was at Moore and loved it. Jacqulin has amazed us with her love for this sport. She has developed unbelievable skills and is quite good. In one picture you can see the "eggbeater" there are two ropes going at the same time across each other. There are four kids jumping in each corner. Then one will jump in the middle as well. This performance was fabulous. We are so proud of her and all her friends.
