THE BEACH!!!!

We are at the beach this week. The beautiful sugar sand beaches of Destin, FL. The trip down was a quick and quite enjoyable. The kids are old enough to sit in the front seat now. That's weird! So, I got to sit in the back with Luke and watch a "boy" movie. Of course, this was only because I had already watched a "girl" movie with Jacqulin. Jacqulin found out that sitting in the front seat with Daddy it isn't as much fun as she thought, he only listens to talk radio. She discussed Sean Hannity's radio program with us at dinner. She also provided games for us to play while waiting for dinner. Hey, she might be a future "cruise director!!" Ha!
We ate at Cheeseburger's in Paradise. The food was great.

A LAZY DAY WITH THE COUSINS!

We had a very lazy day. Alex actually slept until 10:30 which cracked me up because we all thought Amelia would be the one to sleep late.
The girls made a clubhouse and had a "no boys allowed" kind of day. They had a secret handshake, a password and the works. We played games (Deal or No Deal and Ello) and even ate lunch in the clubhouse. I can say "we" because after all I am a girl and I was allowed to join the club.
The boys worked on their music.
After lunch we went to a secret location and worked on a surprise. Don't we look like we are up to something? We are!
After working on our surprise it was time for "HAPPY HOUR!!" We were so pleased to introduce the cousins to Sonic Happy Hour. Everyday from 2-4, it's our favorite time of day.

Star Sighting in Nashville

We all know that Miley Cyrus is from Franklin but we really didn't expect to see her today. Well, like I said I am lobbying for the favorite aunt/cruise director. I feel it is part of my 'job' to rub elbows with the rich and famous. Jacqulin and Amelia were disappointed that Miley didn't have time to sign an autograph. They said she's a little 'stiff.'

There's a monkey at your table.

We ate dinner at "Rainforest Cafe" tonight. I asked for a table next to a moving animal. We say under the gorilla and Amelia announced "I cannot deal with that all night!" She got used to it after a while. She showed us how the frog jumps too.

Great Progress

We went to have the braces tightened. You know years ago you just got braces and lived with whatever they did to your mouth. Now it is a fashion statement. Luke had the hardest time deciding what colors to get on his teeth this time. He will have to start school with whatever his choice is. I think he did a great job. Baby blue and black will go with the beach when we are there in a couple of weeks and not be too overbearing for meeting new people at school.

"I'm Aunt Debbie aka your cruise director"

My sister, Charlotte, and her husband, Mike, are enjoying a few days at the beach. Alex and Amelia are at the Sumner ranch for a few days. Bert laughs every summer and calls me the cruise director because my kids wake up asking "what are we doing today?" I do try to plan some things but everyday all summer is difficult.
While Amelia and Alex are here I have slipped back into Cruise director and favorite aunt. Yesterday, Sunday was a slow day, we went to church and just hung out around the house. We did go to dinner with some friends and found out that apparently we had interrupted some girl watching that Luke and Alex were into at the pool.
Today, Monday, we started the day with a couple of hours at the pool. After lunch Luke had to have his braces tightened. (Not fun but it had to be done.)

Bowling with Kayli and Alex!

Last week we were trying to beat the heat so we went bowling. Alex and Kaylie and their mom, Corrie, joined us. We had a great time. Of course, Kayli got had a lot of helpers. I'm so glad that she liked them helping her. Everytime she bowled she would squeel "I won!, I won!" Jacqulin loved dancing around with her.
By the way, Jacqulin had a great game. I think she bowled 125!!! You go girl!
