Sumner family Christmas Eve 2010

Our kids are the youngest Sumner grandkids so, it has been a long time since we've had a baby around. Last year Anna wasn't running around yet. This year the house was full of kids and they are all dancing, jumping and running - I loved it! We had Hannah, Anna, Hunter and Camille - that is in order according to age.

We even had Derrick and Heather and their kids. What a special touch kids add to Christmas. I am so glad everyone was able to come. Hunter is the funniest little boy. I have rarely seen him cry and he seems genuinely excited about life and all it has to offer. At some point in the evening someone mentioned surprises and Hunter exclaimed "Surprise!!" with his arms flung in the air. That was great!!

Two Christmases ago in this very spot Papa said it was time for him to have some great grandchildren. I think he took everyone by surprise but, when papa speaks....

Not real sure about the story here but, it looks like Donald and Debbie are telling fish tales. "it was this big, no it was thiiiss big!"

We are so blessed to be close to Tim. Luke loves him and I cannot believe Luke is taller than him now.

This year Jacqulin read a poem that my sister, Sonya, wrote "Mary Had The Little Lamb." It was so special to me to have the Christmas story and the salvation Jesus offers told this way.

How did Luke get to be 15?

Hunter says "I love Abbey, but she's in my personal space."

Aunt Bev pulled the major surprise on Jacqulin and bought her a gift I wouldn't get her. She was so excited.

Christmas Eve 2010

I love Christmas and I love that my boys serve God by playing music, but it is extra special to me when they get to play their instruments for the Christmas Eve service at our church. They didn't play last year but, Luke has improved so much this year that he was asked to play too. This was Luke's first Christmas Eve to play.

The boys played for 3 services. So, Bert just took a break between services to hug and me and Jacqulin. We ran home to get the soup ready.
Bert is playing a Cajon (pronounced Ca-hone) and Luke is playing other percussion instruments. The Cajon is a box you sit on and slap with your hands and feet. Whew, I get all goose-bumpely watching this.

I LOVE these girls.

I have done several things with these girls over the past 3+ years. These are Jacqulin's friends. They are all 7th grade girls and we have been to camp together, gotten lost in the woods, and I have taught their Sunday school class the past 2 years.

We had 20 girls show up for this little Christmas party at our house. We had so much fun playing games, eating junk food and sharing Christmas cheer. I am so honored that they share their lives with me.

Christmas on the Farm 2010

The men, right where they should be, in the kitchen!! I think Mike and Billy are trying to take credit for Tommy's cooking.

All the pretty girls, Jacqulin with Layla Jane and then Amelia going out to check on the cows, or was it the pig, no maybe it was the goat, or maybe just the other girls.

My brother, Tommy, and his wife, Lisa live on a farm in Alabama. We celebrated the Totcky family Christmas there this year. We had a great lunch and enjoyed spending time together. One of the highlights of the day - besides Aunt Sonya and Uncle Billy buying the nephews Airsoft guns - was the farm animals. Now, how many times at Christmas have you gotten to walk a goat? Luke is very efficient at walking Pancho the goat. Miss Piggy, yes that is her real name, made us all laugh with her buck tooth underbite.

Aunt Charlotte and Layla are discussing the benefits of living on a farm.

Layla is so much fun to have around. She is busy, busy, busy but took time to look at the full moon shining in the early evening. She loves her Me-Me.

Jacqulin and Amelia with their Singamajigs. This was my favorite gift this Christmas. If the kids went anywhere they gave a Singamajig. I bought all the neices and nephews one. The sing in harmony and they sing their on little songs. We had great fun.

WOOO!! HOOOO!! - December 16th will be celebrated forever!

Making cookies to celebrate Christmas and getting braces off!

The BEFORE picture! Just hurry up and get this over with.
We will always remember the day Jacqulin got her braces off because it has been long awaited and, more importantly, it's Heather's birthday. I think Jacqulin was way more excited about the braces coming off than Heather's birthday but it was a great way to remember.
This is Mrs. Donna, she's our favorite hygenist. Luke and Jacqulin both say there is one girl in this office who acts like she is roping a calf. In other words, she's a little rough.

The AFTER picture! Wow! I think she looks about 5 years older. Which scares this Mama to the bone.

Dickens of a Christmas, Franklin, TN

Our little town is so sweet and cute and historic. Every December they shut downtown off from the real world and celebrate Christmas with all the Dickens characters. This year Jacqulin and her friend, Morgan, walked around with me for a little while. It was cold and rainy but, Morgan has never been to Dickens of a Christmas and we just knew we had to take her.

I believe his name is scrooge... Mr. Scrooge that is.

A little breakfast at Meridees Breadbasket first. These girls have been friends since Kindergarten. I can't believe how much they have grown.
