I am bound and determined to keep my family together. In our society we have allowed our children to be the center of our world. I don't know that there is anything wrong with that. However, I don't know that there is anything right with that either. Luke isn't in any more activities than any other kid. As a matter of fact some of his friends do a lot more. I don't know anyone who does less.
So, in my quest to not go in 50 different directions we all go everywhere together. I am trying to drill into their little minds that they need to be supportive of each other. It hasn't sunk in yet, but I keep telling them when Bert and I are gone they will be glad that they have each other. They need to learn to like each other.
Plus, who would want to miss these times? It isn't just another band performance, it's Luke's first time to play at a football ballgame.
Jacqulin rolls with it. There are always friends there or friends to make. She's a great social butterfly.
This is Luke's first season to play on "the big fields."
So, Jacqulin and I go to every ball game or band performance. Bert tries to be involved anyway he can. Luke goes to violin recitals and plays that Jacqulin is in. We all go look at cars or guitars. And there are times everyone has had to look at shoes or furniture. I don't make Luke go in Victoria Secret but Bert doesn't seem to mind! Ha!
I can't believe how fast this year has gone. I really can't believe how fast my kids are growing up. I can remember my Moma saying that kids grow up so fast.
I thank God that he has allowed me to raise these two. It's a challenge. They aren't perfect. Niether am I! (I know that is a newsflash for some people.) What an unbelievable gift God has given us. Not just children, but the gift of life.
Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever.

I want to watch Luke play in the band. You all are busy but do a great job of being busy as a family. Keep sticking together!
And this whole time I thought the world revolved around Bert! Who knew??
lisa's comment was funny...lol
i have seen so many families who are literally in two or three different locations per wknd doing activities/sports. they are running around continually and have no time for anything else. we do not have kids yet, but i "hope" to do things different. i agree with you...activities are good but keeping the family together as much as possible is the best thing! our families are gifts from God...there is no greater blessing under heaven! keep it up.....
