We got the kids as soon as school was out with the bags packed and the truck loaded.
The kids really wanted to ride in Bert's new truck. I was a little worried, we've spoiled them with the T.V. in the van. Actually, we've spoiled us, it's the only way Bert and I can carry on a conversation. They put the headphones on and we can talk about anything - including them. Apparently, if you don't have a movie to watch you will fall asleep.
O.K. Rule #1 for turning a boring weekend into a vacation: find something the kids would enjoy. We stayed at "Wilderness at the Smokies." It's a hotel that opened this summer. With your stay you get unlimited access to their waterpark. When we pulled into the parking lot there were 8 other cars. We thought we were in the wrong place.
The rooms were beautiful and new.
On Saturday there were 8 other people at the water park. Five of them were kids. That is including my two.
The lifeguards were so bored this one asked Jacqulin to race him down the slides.
It was so cold in the morning you could see steam rising from the pools. But when the sun got crankin it got hot. The pools were heated but still a little chilly.
